Summer Team Tournament - What a Day!

11 July marked the anniversary of our 5th tournament...no, wait...marked the sponsoring of our first tournament in five years. Anyway, thanks to Klaus' initiative and perseverance, CCGA held its 2015 Summer Handicapped Four-Ball Event, dominated by great weather, camaraderie, decent golf by everyone except me, a pretty decent-shape course at Otelfingen Golf Park, and a lot of fun.

Top honors for low-net team went to Flemming B. and Marc L., with Marc L. also taking home the low-net individual prize.

Closest-to-the-pin distinction went to Brian S., after not one of us hit the actual scheduled green on the par-3 14th hole, and the tournament committee agreement to change mid-round to the 18th hole, where Brian came through for us with the only ball on the green, landing 2 meters from the cup. Woohoo!

Beatrice G. made us all proud by hitting the fairway of the challenging par-4 17th, with an immense drive down the middle to take home the prize for long-drive challenge.

The after-round Apero and awards ceremony were followed by dinner and drinks, and great conversation. I personally thank all participants - CCGA members and guests alike! - for coming out to play and making the day fun. It was a day to remember.

Online Handicap System

Sometime during 2014, our handicap index service provider completely overhauled their user interface. New homepage, new scorecard entry system, new administrator's panel, and completely online. Not to be overly detailed, but it is making administration of our USGA Handicap System much easier to manage. We hope you like it and, as always, you are welcome to provide feedback with your thoughts on its functionality and benefits.

A CCGA-published User's Guide has been developed and sent to each member via email. Should you still require one, please contact us and we will get that to you straight away.

CCGA Membership Cards

The powers that be decided to reduce annual expenditures and effort in issuing membership/handicap index cards. Effective with the 2015 season, membership cards will span two (2) years until expiration. Membership renewal dues will still be requested only annually. And don't worry, as ever, members can log into the Online Handicap System and print their updated Index at any time to submit with your membership card for competitions.

That's it for now. Keep them long and straight!
